FORREST HAMER

Summon

Tell of it, before

Before I came into the body that is this
Before all of my life placed from its center

Before I was called to the listening being in the dark
Before I answered saying, I am here and unformed

Before the world waits brilliant as body of the lover
Well

Before the long gone rains return to us breathing
Before the winds

Before I am known with another
Before I begin to forget

Then, Amen.

Yea, before all of this which is absence
